The original idea to start Medical Tourism SA first came about when founder Faith Cartwright noticed that many of the guests making bookings at her popular hospitality businesses (including an events management company and self-catering guest cottage) had chosen to visit the country mainly to undergo a medical procedure.
This observation, combined with Faith’s experience in facilitating travel to South Africa for corporate guests in the past, sparked an interesting idea – what if medical tourists like these could be given access to private medical care, have their accommodation and travel needs taken care of, and plan safaris and other tourist excursions, all through the same service provider? Being based in Cape Town would also give clients the added advantage of a dedicated team of staff on the ground to source and secure the best and newest options, and to provide assistance to clients at all times before, during, and after their procedures.
